Yandex Webmaster MCP: ask about your site data

Use the Yandex Webmaster tools through mowteng to check search visibility, site problems and recrawl requests from your assistant.

Connect Yandex and verify the site

Yandex Webmaster is an optional, experimental source in mowteng. Connect your assistant to https://mowteng.app/mcp and sign in with Google, then open your account page to connect Yandex. Google sign-in connects your mowteng account; Yandex has its own source connection.

The site must be added and verified in Yandex Webmaster. Follow the Yandex site setup guide before requesting its data. yandex_list_sites returns sites with their host_id and verification state, so your assistant can identify the right host before making a report.

Review site health before individual queries

yandex_site_summary returns pages in search, excluded pages, site quality index (SQI), and the site problems Yandex reports by severity. Start here when you need an overview of what Yandex knows about the site. Ask the assistant to separate counts from the specific problems that need attention.

SQI is one part of the summary, not a substitute for examining search performance or technical issues. The site quality index glossary explains the term. When a problem is reported, identify the affected URLs and the underlying issue before deciding what to change.

Ask your assistant

List my Yandex sites and their verification state. For the verified host I select, summarize pages in search, excluded pages, SQI and reported problems by severity.

Read popular search queries

yandex_search_queries returns popular queries with impressions, clicks and average positions. Yandex keeps a limited history, so ask for a defined recent period and have the assistant state the dates returned. Do not assume a historical comparison is available just because you can request it.

Use queries to understand which searches already bring visibility. Then inspect a relevant page and consider whether it answers that intent clearly. You can use Bing and Yandex prompts to keep the source and requested metrics explicit.

Request recrawls and handle missing data

yandex_list_sitemaps lists sitemaps, and yandex_submit_sitemap submits one. yandex_submit_urls requests a recrawl of up to 100 URLs and uses the daily recrawl quota. Submission tools are write actions, marked so assistants ask before running them. A request does not guarantee inclusion in search.

If Yandex returns HOST_NOT_LOADED, it has not loaded the site’s data yet. Confirm that the host is added and verified, then allow Yandex time. See HOST_NOT_LOADED help. For notifications about added or changed URLs across participating engines, IndexNow is another tool with a separate key-file requirement.
