How to add a site to Yandex Webmaster

Add and verify by hand

1. Open Yandex Webmaster and sign in with a Yandex ID. Create one if you do not have it.
2. Choose to add a site and enter its address. Use the exact form your site uses, including https:// and whether it has www, because Yandex treats each host name as its own site.
3. Pick a verification method. Yandex offers a meta tag in the head of your home page, an HTML file placed in your site's root, and a DNS TXT record.
4. Add the tag, upload the file or create the DNS record, then press the check button. DNS changes can take time to spread.
5. Once verified, the site appears in your list and Yandex starts loading its data.

Give Yandex time

A newly verified site starts without data. Yandex needs time to load it, and until then some requests can answer with HOST_NOT_LOADED. Connect Yandex to mowteng

Yandex is an optional source and, like Bing, still experimental. Open the account page and use the Connect button next to Yandex. Sites must be added and verified in Yandex Webmaster first; mowteng cannot add or verify them for you.

Then ask for your sites. yandex_list_sites returns each site with its host_id and verification state. The other tools use that host_id:

• yandex_site_summary: pages in search, excluded pages, the site quality index and the problems Yandex reports, by severity. The index is explained in Yandex site quality index (SQI).
• yandex_search_queries: popular queries with impressions, clicks and average positions. Yandex keeps a limited history.
• yandex_submit_urls (write): ask Yandex to recrawl up to 100 URLs, within the daily recrawl quota.
