Why import instead of adding by hand
Bing Webmaster Tools can bring in the sites you already verified in Google Search Console. You do not have to place a second verification file or DNS record for every site, and Bing can import your sitemaps along with the sites. If you manage several sites, this is much faster than adding them one at a time.
Import step by step
- Open Bing Webmaster Tools and sign in.
- On the home page, choose the option to import your sites from Google Search Console.
- Sign in with the Google account that owns the sites in Search Console and allow Bing to read them.
- Select the sites you want to bring over and confirm the import.
- Open the site list in Bing and check that each imported site shows as verified.
Use the same Google account that owns the sites in Search Console. A different account will not show your sites, and the import will look empty.
If the import offers nothing, or the list stays empty afterwards, see Bing Webmaster Tools shows no sites.
Connect Bing to mowteng
Bing is an optional source in mowteng, and it is still experimental. Open your account page and use the Connect button next to Bing. Then ask your assistant to list your Bing sites. The bing_list_sites tool returns each site in your Bing account and whether it is verified.
List my Bing Webmaster Tools sites and tell me which ones are not verified.
What you can do once Bing has your sites
- See Bing search performance with
bing_search_stats: queries, clicks, impressions and positions. - Find URLs Bingbot struggled with using
bing_crawl_issues, with the HTTP code and issue type. - Submit sitemaps, and ask Bing to crawl up to 500 URLs now with
bing_submit_urls. That uses the site's daily URL submission quota, which depends on the site's age and traffic. - Compare the same site in Google and Bing with
insights_google_vs_bing. Bing data is weekly, so the period is approximate.
The Bing Webmaster Tools MCP server page lists the tools, and compare Google and Bing rankings shows what the comparison answers.
