Search Console property not showing

The symptom

You connected mowteng and asked for your Search Console properties. The answer is an empty list, or the list has other sites but not the one you wanted. The connection itself works: the assistant can call the tools and gets an answer back.

The usual cause: a different Google account

mowteng can only see the properties that the Google account you signed in with can see in Search Console. If your site belongs to work@example.com and you signed in with a personal address, the list will be empty or wrong. This is the most common reason by far, especially if you use several Google accounts in one browser and the account chooser picked the wrong one.

Fix it

1. Open Search Console in your browser and note which Google account owns or has access to the site.
2. Open your account page and use Disconnect next to Google. This revokes Google access and signs out every assistant that uses mowteng. Bing and Yandex stay connected.
3. Connect again. When Google asks you to choose an account, pick the one from step 1, and leave the Search Console permission ticked.
4. Ask the assistant to list your properties again.

That question runs gsc_list_sites. It returns every property your account can access, with your permission level on each.

Other causes

• The site was never added. A site only appears once it exists as a property in your account. Add and verify it first.
• The permission was unticked. If you unticked the Search Console permission at sign-in, mowteng answers that it needs access. See the permission error.
• You need another form of the address. A domain property and a URL-prefix property are listed separately, and http, https and www versions can each be their own prefix property. See Search Console property.
• The property is listed, but there is no data. A new or just-verified property starts empty and fills over the following days.

Check the subscription state on the account page, since the tools stop answering when a trial has ended; trial, subscription and billing explains what you will see. If the assistant cannot call mowteng at all, go to MCP server not connecting.
